The difference between the first two lines is entirely hair and knotting hours. A high-cut back uses meaningfully less hair and takes meaningfully less time, which is why two units that look identical from the front can differ by a hundred dollars.

If you are on a budget, the saving is real and the front looks identical.
Where it goes wrong is when a buyer assumed full coverage, has nothing of their own underneath, and discovers the gap the first time they turn their back to a mirror.
How To Measure It Before Buying
Ask for one number: the distance from the front hairline, over the crown, to the lowest point of hair at the back, measured in centimetres along the surface.
Then measure the same line on your own head to where you want the hair to end. If the wig number is smaller, that difference is bare scalp or your own hair.
If a seller sends a back photo instead of a number, look for where the knotting stops rather than where the lace stops. Lace often extends well past the last knotted hair, which makes coverage look greater than it is in a photograph.
The Carved Swirl At The Side
The design here curves back from the temple in a hooked arc rather than running straight.
Judge it on the smoothness of the curve, on width holding steady through the bend, and on how the arc closes at its lower end. Curved designs are harder than straight lines because the width has to stay constant while the direction changes, and any hesitation shows on the outside of the bend.
Check also that the design sits fully within the knotted section rather than running toward the coverage boundary, where it will look cut off.
The Waves And The Highlights
The crown carries soft directional waves with lighter strands woven through rather than blocked in sections.
Fine highlighting on a short unit is examined close up, so look at where light strands meet dark ones. Woven colour thins out gradually at the root; painted colour starts at full strength.

At the back, trim the lace to just past the last row of knots rather than leaving the full sheet. Excess lace behind a high coverage line has nothing to sit against and will lift away from the head.
If it is your first lace piece, have a stylist do the front cut and copy the shape afterwards.

Final Thoughts
Two short units can look identical in every front-facing photo and cover very different amounts of head. One will cost noticeably more, and the reason will never appear in the description.
Ask for the measurement in centimetres before you pay. It takes a seller thirty seconds to answer and it is the single most common thing buyers discover too late.
